Hole 7 | "Roon The Ben"

Par 5 | 538 Yards

This hole, dubbed "Round the Mountain," is a long par 4 which requires a tee shot between the bunker on the left of the fairway and the two smaller bunkers on the right. Longer players may be able to cut off a fraction of the dog-leg and take a braver line over the ridge on the left. The approach shot is uphill and the green slopes from back to front. Bunkers to the right of the green and a valley of deep rough on the left require a well-executed shot to find the putting surface.

Perfect Play

007 Ailsa
A driver from this elevated tee must find the fairway avoiding the fairway bunker on the left and two on the right. This dog leg right to the left hole has sand dunes both left and right of the fairway and a tee shot landing in the semi rough or rough will leave an uneven lie for the long approach shot to this green. Ideal position of the tee will leave you with around 190 yards, in normal conditions that would be a 4 iron. Two deep bunkers guard the right side of this green and a valley of rough on the left mean that the long approach shot must be accurate. This is one of the most difficult greens to read on the course, severe slopes on either side of the green add to the difficulty.
